YOGA FOR RUNNERS AND ATHLETES
When we are working for better results as runners or hobby athletes – whether it is weight loss, time, effectiveness or something else – our old, perhaps untreated problems re-occur sooner or later or we acquire new problems during loading. Yoga is an excellent way to prevent or relieve such injuries, but it matters how to do yoga. Stretching is not yoga, many injuries can be worse without control.
I help you to take part in a class where, taking into consideration individual problems and challenges, plans, we strengthen, stretch, learn to breath and you don’t need to feel that you are forced into such fields where you don’t feel comfortable in order to achieve results. We will concentrate on your body – as a system.
I’m Niki Gombás, a passionate cross-country runner and yoga instructor. I spent my school years as a sprinter, then after years of Pilates-loving I found long-distance cross-country running and yoga. For me, these sports mean the total retreat from chaos, searching for my own boundaries, and the continuous reinterpretation of the world around me.
When teaching, I see yoga as a device, because being a runner myself I know that for us athletes how important and necessary additional activities are strengthening and stretching. My main focus is preventing sport injuries, but I deal with existing injuries through tailor-made classes.
I look forward with love those who feel that they are looking for the physical effects of yoga and the physical development provided by this activity: who would like to strengthen their deep muscles with stretching combined with balance development.
